The HBM-Nobas motor grader BG 180 TA-7 as a Herpa model
A Construction Giant in 1/87 Miniature
Where roads are being built, paths maintained, or surfaces precisely graded, levelled and shaped, motor graders are among the machines used.
The HBM-Nobas BG 180 TA-7 motor grader is one of the larger machines of its kind.
One of its most distinctive features is the grader blade positioned centrally between the front and rear axles, allowing for highly precise grading work. With a width of 3.66 metres, it can be swivelled, tilted and adjusted sideways. This allows surfaces to be levelled, slopes and profiles to be created, and embankments and ditches to be formed. A rear ripper is also used to loosen compacted soil.
The 19,000-kilogram grader is powered by a PERKINS diesel engine delivering 151 kW (205 hp), supported by a 6-speed Ergopower powershift transmission and load-sensing hydraulics.
It is precisely the combination of its long wheelbase and flexibly adjustable grader blade that makes the motor grader a versatile machine for road construction and earthmoving.
Herpa motor grader
As impressive as the HBM-Nobas BG 180 is on the construction site, it is just as fascinating in 1:87 scale. Herpa has recreated this distinctive construction machine as a highly detailed miniature, capturing numerous characteristic features of the original.
The front dozer blade and rear ripper can both be positioned in either transport or working position.
The grader blade is also movable: it can be swivelled, tilted and extended sideways.
The motor grader is also available in a military version featuring a printed Iron Cross.
