Virgin Atlantic Airbus A330-900neo

Established in 1984, Virgin Atlantic took off on its first flight using a used Boeing 747, flying from London-Gatwick to Newark. Cleverly utilizing catchy and modern marketing and public relations, the airline developed into UK’s second-largest long-haul airline. For over three decades, a pin-up girl carrying the Union Jack, the Scarlet Lady, has adorned each aircraft in the fleet. The ‘Flying Lady’ was recently replaced by five “Flying Icons”, named Meera, Ray, Zadie, Oscar, and Daley. Similar in style to the classic Scarlet Lady, these five characters represent a small part of Virgin’s efforts for more inclusiveness and support of diversity. The second of currently four Airbus A330neos in the fleet, G-VTOM is named Space Oddity, after the famous 1969 hit by David Bowie, sporting Daley as the flag bearer.
