In 1983, UPS began to set up its own fleet of freighter aircraft, initially with Boeing 727s. Originally built for Western Airlines in 1979, UPS purchased this trijet and converted it into a freighter in 1985. In Total UPS operated more than 70 727-100 and -200 aircraft, the last of which were operated well into the new millennium, until 2007. This release continues the small series of 727 models commemorating the 60th anniversary of the now legendary trijet.
