A leading Indigenous Australian design agency, Balarinji has worked with Qantas to create the fuselage design for all of the Flying Art Series liveries to date, collaborating with First Nations artists and their families. This latest creation on QantasLink’s state-of-the-art Airbus A220 continues this special artistic partnership. Born in 1952 in the remote community of Kanpi in South Australia, Maringka Baker began painting in order to tell her ancestral stories relating to travel, women’s ceremonial business, family connections and traditional lands. Maringka is recognized as one of Australia’s most accomplished artists and is credited with inspiring a new generation of First Nations artists. The livery tells the Dreaming story of two sisters who traverse Australia together, covering vast distances to find their way home.
A small quantity of this latest flying piece of art is now available directly through the Herpa Shop. The models of the Herpa Handcrafted Series are produced in small runs exclusively for airline and other businesses and frequently see use as exclusive presents or for display purposes at exhibition or press conferences. Every single part is manufactured from solid resin by hand and comes with an elegant and sturdy display stand with a wooden base. Exclusive craftsmanship, made by Herpa.
