NASA Boeing 737-100 - 60 Years 737
The very first Boeing 737 was rolled off the production line on December 17, 1966. 60 years later, what better time to look back at the beginnings of the most successful airliner family to date. What started as a short-haul aircraft with a capacity for 100 passengers, grew to a family of aircraft, with over 12,500 aircraft produced and currently over 3,600 still in Boeing’s order books. The small series will start with N515NA: she started out as the prototype 737-100 series aircraft, and was later operated by NASA for three decades before being retired in 2003 as the very last -100 series aircraft. She is today on display at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington.
