One of Braniff’s original eight “solid” or popularly-called “jelly bean” colors, Light Sky Blue was an extremely rare color: The rather pale blue color quickly looked washed-out and faded, resulting in the aircraft being repainted rather quickly. N7272 was the first Sky Blue aircraft to be delivered. Most images that exist today are of this aircraft as it was used for the on-delivery photo shoot by Boeing back in July 1966.
