Qatar Amiri Flight which caters exclusively to the royal family of Qatar and other high-ranking government staff initially wanted to sell one of its Boeing 747s with VIP interior as it had only rarely seen use. Just over 400 flight hours were in the logbooks of the formerly registeredVQ-BSK. However, the Emir of Qatar turned the plane with boardrooms, lounges, first-class seating and even an infirmary into a gift to the Turkish Republic. The 747-8, now registered TC-TRK, bears the eye-catching and elegant design of the governmental fleet of Turkey.
