Christmas 2024 Boeing 747LCF Dreamlifter – “Prancer”

This year's Herpa Wings Christmas model combines two anniversaries into one retro look: On the one hand, the design is reminiscent of the “candy bombers” of the Berlin Airlift, which ended 75 years ago. After the USSR had closed land and water access to the western sectors of Berlin from June 26, 1948 to September 30, 1949 in what would later become East Germany, these were supplied with essentials through the air by aircraft of the Western Allies. In order to reflect the design of the Douglas C-54 Skymaster, which was primarily used, the model does not appear in the black base color normally used for the Christmas models, but in silver. On the other hand, Herpa is also celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. We have therefore integrated the logos used in the past to the design and finally given the aircraft a little Christmas touch to round things off.
