Usually, Herpa produces models according to a life-size original. With the Herpa DC-3, we have broken with that tradition.
The DC-3, registered N143D stems from 1938 (cn 2054) and was operated by Swissair (October 1938 – 1955) and the American Ozark Airlines, just to name a few. From 1974 on it was operated in freighter service for various companies. Today, it is mainly used as an instruction airplane for pilots in training.
Since 2006, the old lady has been flying around in the Herpa look amazing people at miscellaneous air shows throughout the USA.
