What better venue for a new automobile than the IAA? Next to mold novelties of the “big” highlights like Audi A4, Mini Clubman or BMW 1-series Coupé in the 1/87 scale, Herpa presented a first design model in the 1/10 scale and asked the visitors, how they like the newTrabi.

Long lines in front of our stand already proved before the survey ended, that the topic „Trabant“ is emotionally followed in Germany as hardly any other. Almost 10,000 visitors filled out a survey and evaluated the first design study. Several criteria on what on the Trabant would be important to the visitors were also inquired about.

Almost 14,000 people have participated in the survey at the IAA stand and via the www.newtrabi.com site – furthermore participants of surveys, which were conducted by several organs.

Result: The newTrabi is to be built, so 93 percent of the participants!

This positive vote prompted Herpa, to continue the initiative newTrabi. The first courses for a new Trabant were set – now the initiative works at a great pace to present a prototype at the IAA 2009!
